Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions apply to all appointments for ear wax removal carried out by microsuction, irrigation or manual removal, including home visits. By booking an appointment, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to the information documented in the T&Cs.
Services Provided
We provide professional ear wax removal using microsuction, irrigation and manual techniques. A full assessment of ear health is carried out before treatment. The method used is based on clinical judgement and what is safe and appropriate on the day. We reserve the right to decline or stop treatment if it is not clinically safe to proceed.
Who the Service Is For
This service is provided for adults and, where offered, children in line with safeguarding and clinical guidelines. Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Clients must have the capacity to give informed consent. If capacity is in doubt, treatment will not proceed.
Pricing (Home Visits)
The cost of ear wax removal is £50 for one ear or £70 for both ears. This includes travel, assessment, examination and treatment where it is safe to proceed.
Call Out / Assessment Fee
A £25 fee applies if:
- You have only booked a check/ health check assessment.
- No ear wax is present following examination; or
- Wax removal cannot be carried out due to a change in mind, medical or a clinical reason.
This fee covers travel, time, assessment and professional advice where applicable.
Deferred or Partially Completed Appointments
If wax is present but removal cannot be completed due to clinical exclusions, including (but not limited to) infection, inflammation or impacted wax, a £25 charge will apply. If a suitable follow up appointment is booked, the £25 will be deducted from the total cost of the next appointment.
Exclusions and Contraindications
For your safety, we cannot proceed with wax removal if we identify contraindications, including but not limited to:
- Current or recent ear infection
- Pain, discharge or bleeding from the ear
- Perforated or suspected perforated eardrum
- Recent ear surgery
- Certain medical conditions that increase clinical risk
Clinical decisions are final and made in your best interest.
Preparing for Your Appointment
Clients are advised to use olive oil or a suitable ear softening product prior to the appointment, in line with professional guidance. Failure to soften wax may mean removal cannot be completed in one visit.
What to Expect During Your Appointment
Your appointment will include discussion of symptoms, otoscopic examination, explanation of findings, and treatment where appropriate. Appointments typically last up to 30 minutes. You are encouraged to ask questions and may ask for the procedure to stop at any time.
Risks and Possible Side Effects
Ear wax removal is generally safe when performed correctly; however, minor and usually short lived effects may occur. These can include temporary discomfort, dizziness, noise sensitivity during microsuction, or mild irritation. Serious complications are rare but cannot be completely eliminated.
No Guarantee of Full Clearance
Some wax, particularly long standing or impacted wax, may not be removable in a single appointment. Further treatment or additional softening may be required. No guarantee is made that wax will be fully cleared in one session.
Aftercare
Aftercare advice will be provided. This may include guidance on ear care, symptom monitoring and when to seek further medical advice. It is the client’s responsibility to follow this advice.
Self Care and Wax Prevention
Clients will be advised on appropriate ear care and prevention. Cotton buds and inappropriate ear cleaning methods should be avoided, as they can worsen impaction and increase risk of injury.
Consent and Medical Information
You must provide accurate and complete information about your medical history and ear health. Consent will be obtained before treatment, and failure to disclose relevant information may result in treatment being declined.
Right to Decline or Stop Treatment
Both the practitioner and the client have the right to stop treatment at any time if there are safety, comfort or clinical concerns.
Chaperones and Companions
Clients may have another adult present during their appointment if they wish. This is encouraged where a client feels anxious or vulnerable.
Cancellations and Missed Appointments
Reasonable notice is requested for cancellations or rescheduling. Missed appointments or late cancellations may incur a charge to cover travel and lost clinical time.
Both the practitioner and the client have the right to stop treatment at any time if there are safety, comfort or clinical concerns.
Confidentiality and Data Protection
All personal and medical information is handled confidentially and in line with UK GDPR. Information is used only for clinical care and necessary administration.
Feedback and Complaints
We welcome feedback and aim to provide a professional, high quality service. Any concerns or complaints should be raised directly so they can be addressed promptly and fairly.
Professional Standards
All procedures are carried out by a trained and competent practitioner, following current best practice, infection control procedures and professional guidelines.
Limitation of Liability
We are not liable for complications arising from undisclosed medical conditions, failure to follow advice, or where treatment is declined on clinical safety grounds.
Changes to These Terms
These Terms and Conditions may be updated from time to time.
The version in place at the time of booking will apply, last updated 13/04/2026
